TradeTree charges a small membership fee from people who trade most heavily. That's it. No ads. No data sales. No investor pressure to "monetize the community."

We've thought hard about this. The dominant model of the internet — free product, sell attention to advertisers — fundamentally misaligns our interests with yours. We don't want to be in the attention business. We want to be in the trade business.

Pricing Questions

Things people ask about membership.

Yes, genuinely. The Sprout plan is free forever — no trial period, no credit card required. You can browse all listings, post up to 3, send 5 proposals per month, and complete trades without ever paying anything. Most casual traders are perfectly happy on the free plan indefinitely.

You immediately drop back to the Sprout plan limits. Your active listings stay up but will be reduced to your 3 most recent if you have more than 3. Your trade history and reviews are always yours — they never disappear. You can rejoin Grove at any time.

None. Grove is month-to-month (or year-to-year if you choose annual billing for the 20% discount). Cancel any time from your account settings with no fees, no questions, no runaround. We've made cancellation as easy as signup because we'd rather earn your membership every month than trap you into it.

Yes. We believe barter should be accessible to everyone regardless of income. If the Grove membership fee is genuinely a barrier for you, email us at hello@tradetreeapp.com and we'll work something out. We'd rather have you in the community trading than exclude you over $9.

Grove listings appear near the top of relevant search results and category pages. It's not pay-to-win — we still use relevance and quality to determine placement within Grove listings. But Grove listings consistently appear above Sprout listings when the content is similarly relevant. It's the single biggest visibility difference between the two plans.

Never. TradeTree charges a flat membership fee — nothing more. We never take a cut of the value you exchange, never charge per trade, and never add fees to either side of a transaction. The membership fee is our only revenue. That's it.
